Description

Bax protein belongs to bcl-2 family in human apoptosis pathway. It can turn to homodimer and form pores on the outer mitochondrial membrane and bind to VDAC( voltage-dependent anion channel), making it more permeable, just as holin protein to e.coli. Finally, it triggers apoptosis of human cell and also yeast cell by releasing cytochrome C and other apoptosis factor to cytoplasm.
