Description
The LOV2 protein contains a photo-activable LOV2 domain, which changes its conformation upon exposure to blue light (420-480 nm)and thus can be used to build photoswitchable fusion proteins.
This part has been prepared from an optimized LOV2 sequence published by Strickland et al. 2009.
Standard BioBrick restriction sites have been added. An nhI site has been added to facilitate fusion with fusion-compatible (non rbs-site containing) BioBricks using XbaI, which will ligate to nhI sticky ends.
Notes
2 site-directed mutagenesis PCRs were applied to remove 2 PstI sites inside of the coding sequence.
