Alcanivorax borkumensis aldehyde dehydrogenase,the process of alkane degradation needs two steps ,first alkane is hydroxylated by two systems ,p450 and alkb2, to aldehydes and alcohol.and the aldH catalyzes the aldehydes to CO2. at the same time, another enzyme ,alcohol dehydrogenase(adH),catalyzes the alcohol to CO2.
