Description

This part was designed to characterize the effect of the gene FadD on fatty acid consumption. In E.coli, after fatty acids being transported into the cell, to be degraded, they must be activated by the acyl-CoA synthetase-- FadD to form CoA derivatives. Also, FadD is shown to be essential for fatty acids transportation.
