Description

The first step in the beta-oxidation pathway involves the conversion of acyl-CoA to enoyl-CoA. This process is catalyzed by acyl-CoA dehydrogenase FadE(BBa_K861020). Its action results in the introduction of a trans double-bond between C2 and C3 of the acyl-CoA thioester substrate. This part was designed to characterize the effect of the gene FadE on fatty acid consumption by in vivo experiment.
