Description

Polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) are polyoxoesters that act as carbon storage compounds. PhaP or Pha phasins accumulate during PHA synthesis, bind PHA granules, and promote further PHA synthesis. Phasins are not homologous in different bacterial species.
Ralstonia eutropha is a gram negative bacteria found in both the soil and the water. Ralstonia is an easy bacteria to exercise standard gene replacement techniques on.
