Sequences BBa_M11059_sequence (Version 1)

Description

This is a single open reading frame which contains multiple genes that codes for necessary proteins in the sysnthesis of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids. Ecosapentaenoic acid is the PUFA that is synthesized using this organism. The proteins coded within the gene are for catalytic and transferase activity.
This gene is to be used in sequence with pfaA, pfaC, and pfaD. By cloning these genes into the same organism, it should be able to produce omega-3 fatty acids.

Notes

None. There were no exixting restriction sites that had to be modified.
