Sequences BBa_M1206_sequence (Version 1)

Description

Suicide Gene that utilizes T4 Holin and Lysozymes to degrade the cell wall and perforate the inner membrane of the cell, resulting in the death of the cell. A T4 antiholin is present when the cell is not to be terminated. The GFP marker is in place to ensure that kill gene is working when below 42C.
The suicide gene is controlled by a tetracycline repressor.

Notes

Must consider lag time when transitioning from above 42C to below. It will take time for the repressor proteins to degrade once the coding for them stops when below 42C.
