Description
ACTN3 gene is currently being used to determine the athletic ability in humans. Some universities are testing infants and children to determine the presence of the ACTN3 gene in cheek swab samples. The ACTN3 gene indicates the concentration of fast-twitch muscle fibers. ACTN3 correlates with other factors of athleticism as well.
