Description
This gene sequence codes for the ScrT protein which serves as a symporter for sucrose into the cell. The sequence is originally from [Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis]. The sequence is normally a part of a gene cluster containing scrT, scrP, and scrR. Only scrT was used specifically from these gene cluster in our project to increase the uptake of sucrose by the cell. The sequence present in this part has been optimized for use in Lactobacillus johnsonii.
Notes
This sequence was put into DNA 2.0's Gene Designer software to optimize its G-C content for use in Lactobacillus Johnsonii. Also it was checked for comparability with standard 10 restriction enzymes. The sequence here does not contain any restriction site conflicts with standard 10.
