Description
The aromatase part encodes for an enzyme that interacts with testosterone to turn it into estrogen in one step. The aromatase protein is naturally synthesized in mammals, but is part of a regulated system that strikes a balance between testosterone and estrogen levels in mammals. In practice, this part can be used in projects to increase the amount of estrogen, regardless of what regulated levels should be.
Notes
We inserted this part into an HEK293t mammalian vector. Other than placing this gene after a promoter region in our vector, we didn't have anything in particular to change or consider when designing.
