Description

This part encodes the microbial opsin protein, channelrhodopsin-2. It is a light-gated calcium ion membrane channel.

Notes

We added a e5'UTR-bG from Gene Designer from DNA 2.0, kozak consensus sequence including the start codon (gccaccatg) sequence and a stop codon (tag). No mutations were needed for repeats in the coding sequence.

Optimized for expression and sequenced by the Deisseroth Lab at Stanford University. We obtained the ChR2 coding sequence from the Stanford Optogenetics Resource Center.
