Description
NOTE: this sequence does not contain a start codon; choose an RBS/translation unit that ends with a start codon, or add one to the beginning of this sequence.
The benzylalcohol acetyltransferase (BEAT) enzyme, the sequence of which is contained is this part, was extracted from the petals of the clarkia breweri flower. The BEAT enzyme catalyzes the production of benzyl acetate (a volatile, odorous compound) from benzyl alcohol
Notes
The DNA sequence was extracted from a flower but optimized for a host E. Coli bacteria (e.g. deleted repeated sequences, optimized GC content).
