Description
SPCC126.04c is the pombe homolog of SGF73, a subunit of the SAGA ATP-independent chromatin remodelling complex in S. cerevisiae. Deletion of this subunit from S. cerevisiae leads to viable cells but poor expression of PAU genes under hypoxic conditions. Other phenotypes may also exist but are currently undescribed. The part BBa_Y00073 is the pombe SPCC126.04c ORF (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/viewer.fcgi?val=68037958&itemID=1&view=gbwithparts) that has been codon optimized by DNA2.0 for cerevisiae expression. This may or may not be needed for optimal expression in cerevisiae, though the recoding does leave only 77% (794/1028) bp identities.
