Sequences BBa_I712083_sequence (Version 1)

Description

Human CD4 shortened receptor fused with C-terminal half of TEV protease and Myc tag. This construct is under control of CMV promoter.

Notes

CD4 (shortened) is also fused with C-terminal half of TEV protease. This construct is coexpressed with CCR5 receptor fused with N-terminal half of TEV protease (in mammalian cells). When that kind of human cells are infected with HIV virus both halves of TEV protease assemble and split protein regains its function. This principle can be used for fighting HIV infection.

Source

Human CD4 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily.
