Description

motB E. coli flagellar protein linking torque machinery to cell wall; allows for induction of motility

Notes

We had to design this part to address leaky expression from R0062. In order to induce motility with HSL, we must be able to demonstrate both repression and induction. S03271 contains the endogenous RBS of motB and is thought to be strong. Leaky expression could be diminished by adding weaker ribosome binding sites upstream of this part.

Source

This part was amplified by PCR from the genome of E. coli strain RP437 (wild-type for motility)
