Description

This part consitutively expresses lacZ (BBa_I732005) under the control of Ptet strong promoter (BBa_R0040), which is always active because tetR gene (BBa_C0040) does not have any promoter upstream and so it cannot repress BBa_R0040.

GFP (BBa_E0040) is constitutively expressed by another strong promoter: BBa_J23100.

This part confers the ability of metabolizing lactose to lacZ mutant strains (e.g. TOP10 - BBa_V1009), as well as the ability of glowing.
