Description
Second half of the LacZ Gene (LacZ-2), split for use in HPP (Hamiltonian Path Problems). It is the necessary complement half of BBa_J119003, without the other, neither will function. They are intended to be re-assembled via transformation in E Coli JM109. It functions as a reporter gene when properly assembled with LacZ-1 by producing blue coloring (non-fluorescing) when X-Gal is present. Can be used in conjunction with other split genes but must have the complement to report properly.
