Description
DFFb (DNA fragmentation factor beta polypeptide) a.k.a CAD (caspase activated DNase) is activated by cleavage from its inhibitor by Caspase 3. This is a key step in apoptosis. This sequence was originally obtained from NCBI (accession # NM_004402.2, but we modified the sequence to prevent cleavage by restriction enzymes at internal restriction sites. This was done by replacing the third base at each of these codons.
Notes
There were two restriction enzyme recognition sites found within this coding sequence. The third base in codons at these sites were changed to avoid cleavage by restriction enzymes.
