Description

L-arabinose induced Lyz103 is a functional construct which contains the gene that encodes for the endolysin protein from the bacteriophage ERA103 (BBa_K1136001). The construct is under the control of an L-arabinose promoter (BBa_K206000) and the rrnb terminator (BBa_B0010). This part can be expressed in E. coli using 20% L-Arabinose.

Notes

The endolysin gene was synthesized by GenScript to optimize codons and avoid illegal sites. The promotor and terminator were chosen for controllable expression, because the endolysin may be toxic in high copy number.

Source

The endolysin gene is from bacteriophage ERA103. An E. coli promoter and terminator were used.
