Description

This part is an origin of replication for Gram positive organisms. This sequence has been used in plasmids for electrotransformation of Clostridia with success. It is necessary to have a functional origin of replication for the chassis organism; therefore, if the chassis organism used is a Gram positive, this sequence will be a necessary addition to the iGEM standard plasmid backbones in order to allow for the replication of the plasmid.

Notes

The cloning of this part was relatively straight-forward. No special considerations were required.

Source

This part was cloned from the plasmid pIKM1. Its original source was B. subtilis.
