Description
Glucose-regulated eukaryotic promoter sequence, activated under high glucose concentrations. Works in yeast as well as human fibroblast cells. HXT1 encodes a yeast hexose transporter, we fused its promoter sequence (-750 ~ -161 bp) to a CMV-mini promoter sequence (204 bp) to ensure glucose-sensitivity as well as high expression rates.

Notes
Region -750~-161 bp was selected from the HXT1 promoter for maximal glucose sensitivity. A CMV-mini promoter sequence was added to increase expression rate.
Source
HXT1 promoter sequence is cloned from S. cerevisiae genome via PCR. The CMV-mini promoter is cloned from a commercial plasmid.
