Description
This part is coding the M13 bacteriophage g1p with a FLAG tag on C-terminal, which is an assembly protein of M13 bacteriophage spanning on the inner membrane of the infected Escherichia coli. Its function is to initiate the phage assembly by interacting with the viral g4p protein and host-encoded thioredoxin and recognizing the packaging signal in phage's single strand DNA.
Notes
Between the g1p and FLAG coding sequencing, there are 9 nucleotides linker sequence coding an RRS linker peptide. It is not certain whether this peptide would affect the regular function of g1p protein.
Source
It is derived from the commercial M13KE vector(New England Biolab) used in phage display system by PCR.
