Description
Acyl-acyl carrier protein (ACP) thioesterase catalyzes the hydrolysis of acyl-ACP to fatty acids and ACP this reaction removes the coupling between fatty acid biosynthesis and phospholipid biosyntheis, which is a key to obtain free fatty acids. This thioesterase AtFatA can produce fatty acids with 16~18 carbon chain length. In previous researches, thioesterase gene AtFatA can be expressed in E.coli BL21(DE3) and enhance the synthesis of free fatty acids.
This thioesterase can express itself with a T7 promoter.
The RBS and T7 promoter are in front of the AtFatA coding sequence and T7 terminator is after AtFatA. You can only use this part in E.coli BL21(DE3) or choose other parts we offer in other strains.
