Description
This is a Cre-like recombinase of Tyr-family with properties similar to those of Cre, but with a different recognized sequence VloxP, which do not cross-interfering with Cre-LoxP system. Vcre has the invertase activity that invert the the sequence between two anti-parallel Vloxp.
The original Vcre is discovered through genome screening of Vibrio sp. 0908, yet this coding sequence is redesigned into E. coli-and-yeast coding preference from original protein sequence.
Notes
Optimized for both E. coli and S. cerevisiae, but neither is most perfectly fitted.
Source
This recombinase comes from de novo gene synthesis.
