Description
This is a Cre-like recombinase of Tyr-family with properties similar to those of Cre, but with a different recognized sequence SloxP (or its proper derivatives), which do not cross-interfering with Cre-LoxP system. However, because the wild type SloxP contains consecutive ATG that takes risk to unexpectedly initiate protein translation, we highly recommend to use an derivative of SloxP, SloxM1 as the target of Scre.
Scre has the invertase activity that invert the the sequence between two anti-parallel SloxM1. The original Scre is discovered through genome screening of Shewanella sp. ANA-3, yet this coding sequence is redesigned into E. coli-and-yeast coding preference according to its AA sequence.
Notes
Optimized for both E. coli and yeast.
Source
It comes from de novo synthesis of DNA.
