Composite

Sequences BBa_K1939002_sequence (Version 1)

Description

This composite part contains an RBS with a single point mutation (G to A transition) and the encoding region for the mCherry fluorescent reporter protein. This particular RBS mutation results in higher translational efficiency with mCherry fluorescence that is 137.96% of the native RBS.

Notes

This is one of a number of random point mutation in the 12 base pair region beginning with the RBS and ending after the first nucleotide of the start codon. This was considered when designing the PCR primers.

Source

This is a mutant of the RBS region of the native strain, S001, of M. maripaludis
