Sequences BBa_K200011_sequence (Version 1)

Description

The temperature sensitive lambda cI protein has the cI857 mutation. Therefore, the repressor is denatured at 42??C.

It normally represses promoter activity from bacteriophage lambda PL and PR promoters, and has maximal activity at the permissive temperature of 30??C. cI1

However, when the temperature is raised further, typically 42??C, the functionality of such protein is lost and it is no longer able to bind the operator of the promoter. cI2
