Description
This sequence codes for DXS synthase, an enzyme involved in the conversion of G3P and Pyruvate to DXP in the MEP/DOXP pathway. Because DXS synthase activity is the rate limiting step in the MEP/DOXP pathway, overexpression of this gene will override the bottleneck in the G3P and Pyr conversion process.
This sequence is endogenous to E. coli and is referenced from EcoGene:EG13612.
Notes
This sequence has been codon optimized for expression in E. coli.
No further modifications were made.
