Description
This parts contains the coding region of Acetate kinase (AckA) + a potential native terminator (50 bp downstream of the gene) from Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803. It's involved in the Phosphate acetyltransferase-acetate kinase pathway and catalyzes the conversion of acetyl-CoA to acetate. In our project this part was overexpressed in Synechocystis to increase the acetate production.
Notes
The complete sequence of the genome of Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803(Genbank accession number NC_000911) was used to design primers for amplification of this gene.
FW primer: ATGAAATTCCTGATTCTCAATGC
RV primer: AGCCTAATTCAACATTTATCTTCAC
The reverse primer was designed to also include 50 bp downstream of the gene as a potential native terminator.
