Description

Coding sequence for beta recombinase protein homolog.
For use in red recombineering (eg Multiplex Automated Genome Engineering, MAGE) of Rhizobia species (S. meliloti and CIAT 899). Identified with BLASTp from homology to the lambda coliphage beta recombinase. Derived from phage that selectively infects rhizobia spp (R. leg).

Within Yale iGEM 2016, known as gBlock 2, amplified for cloning with primers priG 449, 450.

Notes

Elimination of any illegal restriction sites, and codon optimization for expression in S. meliloti 1021 and R. tropici CIAT 899.
