Sequences BBa_K217000_sequence (Version 1)

Description

The part is controlled by a cmv promotor. This makes it constituitivley active, or always on. It is a tat peptide sequence connected to GFP to create a fusion protein. Tat is a cell penetrating peptide that was first discovered by two independent labs studying the HIV-1. This fusion protein should be handled with a safety level 2 because of its ability to enter a cell it is considered infectious. Essentially, the cell that has this plasmid is able to shoot out green bullets. There will be reinsertion into the original source.

Notes

No issues. The tat peptide can be directly attached to the GFP.

Source

The source of this part is our own version of a sequence received from Dr. Gao from Columbia University.
