Sequences BBa_K274004_sequence (Version 1)

Description

Produces a light green pigment from L-tyrosine. Formed from the vio operon biobrick (BBa_K274002) with the vioD gene removed by restriction with BglII and BclI. This sequence contains four genes, vioA, vioB vioD and vioE, each preceded by their own ribosome binding site.

Notes

The origonal vio operon was designed with the vioD gene flanked by complementary sticky end restriction sites for BglII and BclI. This allowed the vioD to be easily removed, leading to the production of the light green pigment.

Source

This part was made from the vio operon biobrick, part number BBa_K274002. The vioD gene has been removed by restriction digest.
