Description
This is a copy of the terminal M13 bacteriophage minor coat protein pIII placed downstream of B0031, a weak RBS. This translational unit has applications in phage display and appears to use an RBS that is significantly weaker than that used by wild type M13, according to the Voigt Lab Ribosome Binding Site Calculator.
Notes
We decided to select a weaker RBS than is found in wild type in order to experiment with the effect of RBSs upon phage display and overall system dynamics.
Source
The RBS component is BBa_B0031, a previous BioBrick part; the copy of pIII comes from the M13KE bacteriophage strain.
