Description

In conditions of high osmolality, OmpR is phosphorylated and it binds to the three operating sites of the promoter (BBa_R0082) and activates transcription. This part is used as a control for our experiments dealing with increasing recombinant protein production using proteorhodopsin. It is also an indication of the amount of protons present in the periplasmic space.

Notes

The part is a control for our experiments with proteorhodopsin. It is an indicator of PMF in the cell.
