Description
The ehaB part that codes for an autotransporter protein that is on the cell surface. The part can self transport across the bacterial membrane and go to the cell surface. The ehaB part, like other autotransporter proteins, have an N-terminal signal sequence, a passenger domain, and a translocation domain. The ehaB part has also been shown to form biofilms on polystyrene surfaces.
The pcr product of the ehaB gene can be digested with XhoI/EcoRI and HindIII and ligated to XhoI/EcoRI-HindIII plasmid pBAD/MycHisA. The expression of the ehaB gene can be placed under control of araBAD promoter. Kanamycin cassette from pUC4K can be inserted into the HindIII site to enable transformation into OS56.
