Sequences BBa_M36587_sequence (Version 1)

Description

This part begins with a promoter, then the ADC coding sequence, and finally, a termination sequence from T1. This composite part aims to produce acetone from acetoacetate using the gene sequence of ADC. ADC, or acetoacetate decarboxylase, is able to convert the byproducts acetoacetate and butyryl-CoA (made by the gene sequences ctfA and ctfB) into acetate, the final product in this complex mechanism. This can be used in projects that are aiming to convert acetoacetate especially into acetone.

Notes

No design considerations considered with this composite part specifically.
