Sequences BBa_I742121_sequence (Version 1)

Description

Part contains the four genes CrtEBIY, which form the B-carotene biosynthesis pathway.

The four genes sequentially convert fanesyl diphosphate into B-carotene (a vitamin A precursor)

B-carotene also has an orange pigment

Notes

the crtI coding sequence contains 2 PstI sites. These have been removed by site-directed mutagenesis but the functionality of the nutated gene has not been confirmed. This version still contains the two PstI sites
