Description
This composite part functionally codes for the selective mercury transporters merT and merP as well as the metallothioniein CRS5 fused to glutathione-S-transferase. This composite part should act to transport mercury ions into the engineered cell where they will be sequestered by the metallothionein allowing for Hg2+ removal from contaminated water.Notes
