Description
This composite part functionally codes for the putative lead transporter CBP4 as well as the metallothioniein CRS5 fused to glutathione-S-transferase. This composite part should act to transport lead ions into the engineered cell where they will be sequestered by the metallothionein allowing for Pb2+ removal from contaminated water.Notes
Expression of GST-CRS5 is controlled by the bacteriophage T7 promoter, so part should be combined with a host organism expressing T7 polymerase (such as E. coli BL21-AI from Life Technologies).Source
