Description
The switch is made up of a strong constitutive promoter followed by a terminator. The terminator is flanked by attB and attP so when in the presence of the Bxb1 invertase, the terminator will be inverted, allowing for expression of LuxI and GFP.
LuxI is necessary for the production of AHL, a signaling molecule.
Notes
When on a high copy plasmid (pSB1C3), there was some leaky expression; therefore, we recommend that this part be used on plasmids with a lower copy number.
Source
The luxI and GFP come from the distribution kit. See BBa_K1718002 for more details on the switch.
