Sequences BBa_K906102_sequence (Version 1)

Description

This is the functional unit which makes ZCD soluble in E. coli. It includes a inducible promoter, mutated thioredoxin to increase solubility, the ZCD ORF, a hist-tag for easy purification and finally a double terminator. This part has been shown to highly express ZCD in E. coli. It is suggested that this part be used in a plasmid also containing araC for the optimal repression of this protein before the time of induction.

Notes

This part was codon optimized for Synechocystis, reflecting its planned expression in this cyanobacteria.

Source

ZCD originated from Crocus Sativus, the saffron plant. However the version present here has been codon optimized for synechocystis.
