Sequences BBa_M36557_sequence (Version 1)

Description

This device converts ergosta-5,7,22,24(28)-tetraen-3β-ol to ergosterol. In the presence of UV light ergosterol is converted to Vitamin D2. The coding region[BBa_M36655] produces C-24(28) sterol reductase an enzyme that catalyzes the final step in Vitamin D2 synthesis pathway by converting ergosta-5,7,22,24(28)-tetraen-3β-ol to ergosterol.

Notes

This construct is uses a strong RBS and 5'UTR so that considerable amounts of C-24(28) sterol reductase to convert the precursor to ergosterol.
