Description

The chlorogenate esterase gene comes from the Ideonella sakaiensis bacteria. Its purpose is to create an enzyme called PETase which breaks down PET into MHET.

Notes

We added a lacl regulated promoter, BBa_R0011, to allow us to turn up enzyme production. In addition, we added a prefix and suffix, a BBa_B0030 RBS, and a BBa_K864600. We also had to change two internal Pst1 sites.

Source

We used the genomic sequence of DNA: GAP38911.1 from GenBank.
