    Description

    This device is the light edge detector circuit. When used with I15008, I15009 and I15010 in an EnvZ- strain, this device produces lambda cI and LuxI proteins in the dark with LuxR being constitutively produced. When combined with an R0065 driven reporter, cells in the dark autorepress R0065 while producing diffusible 3OC6HSL which can activate expression from R0065 in neighboring cells.
