Description

Tests the chemotaxis cell-cell signalling machinery based on aspartate secretions. Sender cells are nonmotile and have a trigger controlling the AspA attractant sender and CFP reporter indicating transcription of aspA. Receiver cells have a constitutive promoter controlling YFP reporter. Chemotaxis can be observed by the movement of the YFP-marked receiver cells.

Notes

Sender cells are the nonchemotactic E. coli strain RP5232. Receiver cells are wildtype E. coli.
