Description
A re-engineered Lux operon for bistable expression. LuxR is now downstream of both Lux promotors so the rate of expression of LuxR increases with cell density. With increased LuxR concentration, sensitivity to AHL increases meaning that the cell density must drop below the original threshold to turn off, giving expression in a bistable pattern.
Notes
Used B0032 instead of B0034 to produce lower sensitivity. This is to prevent the system turning on outside the observable range of cell density by absorbance at 600nm.
